What days does your group meet and where?
We meet Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 6 a.m. On Tuesdays our workout will be some form of interval training or speedwork. We will meet in either south Burlington or Stoney Creek at Fruitland Rd.
Saturday mornings we meet at 6 a.m. at Mapleview Mall by the Starbucks entrance. I know this may seem early for some, but as most of us are busy parents/people, it’s very beneficial to have your workout completed earlier in the day. This leaves lots of time for soccer games, dance classes, cottage weekends etc.
Do I need previous running experience to join Mums Who Run?
As we offer a number of different training clinics, the recommended amount of experience varies.
For our 10km clinic we suggest our members be able to run comfortably for about 20 minutes. This can be a run/walk combination.
For our half marathon clinic we suggest members be able to run about 8km comfortably.
For our marathon clinic, we suggest members have previous long distance running experience such as a half marathon.
We make these suggestions as we want to see all or members have an enjoyable and successful training period with us!
I’m worried that I’m too slow to join a running group.
Please don’t let this deter you from joining our group! We have runners who are all at different paces and abilities.
